Ulverstone has many wonderful things to see and do. Bring Your own or hire some push bikes from Craig Price Cyclery and take a road bike trip with a group Sunday mornings at 8.45. Max Stratton have camping and fishing equipment available for the fishing season: August until April, While in Ulverstone you can also visit Antique Shops, Coffee Shops, Restaurants, Parks, Library, Museum, and Ulverstone Clock. |

Gunns Plains CavesHome to some of the largest limestone shawl formations in the Southern Hemisphere. Featuring an underground stream and glow-worm display the caves are a delight to behold. Guided tours take approx. 40 minutes and are conducted daily at 10am, 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. |
Preston FallsOn your way to the Leven Canyon take a short walk from the road to view Preston Falls from the viewing platform, and take in the bush surroundings. |
Leven CanyonA 250m-deep ravine, the Leven Canyon is a spectacular sight. From the enchanting picnic area, follow the rainforest walk to the cliff-face viewing platform and gaze at the breathtaking scenery. |
Cradle MountainTasmania's most recognisable landmark is the craggy profile of Cradle Mountain. On the park boundary is the visitor centre with its interpretive display, ranger station, park information, walker registration and up-to-date weather reports. There are many superb short walks from the centre and the Dove Lake car park, 14 km further on. It is also the northern gateway to the Overland Track linking Cradle Valley to Lake St Clair, 4 - 5 days walk. |

The Nut and StanleyThe historic village of Stanley is nestled at the base of The Nut, a sheer-sided bluff on Circular Head. A walking track climbs to the summit of The Nut, or take the chairlift, with its spectacular views across Bass Strait beaches and over the town. See seals, penguins, sea birds and other wildlife close to Stanley local operators offer a range of observation tours. Also visit historic Highfield House, overlooking Stanley and The Nut. |
DevonportGateway to Tasmania via the "Spirit of Tasmania" ferries. Devonport has a number of interesting attractions close to the City Centre including aboriginal rock engravings, a maritime museum which traces the history of the region dating back from white settlement, and a 7 km cycle/walking track which extends around the picturesque foreshore from the City past the Olympic Swimming Pool to the historic Don River Railway. |
Don River Railway and MuseumThis Devonport museum features Tasmanian's largest collection of steam locomotives and carriages. Vintage Trains running hourly, and a Steam Train runs on Sundays and Public Holidays. Open 9.00am to 4.30pm daily throughout the year (except Christmas Day and Good Friday). |
